FESTIVAL + FUNDRAISING WEEK !!!!!

Dates: Festival : 21st Feb.

Just in cause you didnt know, Feb. AKA Ta Po' Twell in burmese, is the festival of the food called Hta Ma Nellll ;p.

Its gonna be more modern than traditional. I'll talk about it at the meeting.


Fund raising week ; the week of April 27th

because of the water festival is on that month. There, we have a reason to take people's money.

Are you planning to make that food? It's literally hard to make and give your arm pain. I wonder if you can just use blender..mhm?

but i can say there are going to be people selling them. The reason why i did it then is coz we cant squeeze in and do the water festival and the lantern festival is TOOO soon . i really dont like the idea of doing a festival then.. but it cant be help. It is guaranteed that people are still gonna come though.

with the whole festival thing
i like to get everything plan out before 2008 because it would be to our advantage to get things done early cuz
Christmas is in DEC. Finals is in Jan.
so it's best for us not to cramp everything in FEB.
for fundraising week i like to get a brief intro to what were going to do

For the meeting, We should post the key topic here and make people bring up ideas at he meeting(take note if you have to) so we dont stand idle and do nothing. Also, this will not defeat the purpose since it's easier to say ideas that you though up infront of everyone so they can also insert their opnion in the discussion(more efficient in my perspective). It's also beneficial since people actually have time to think at home and come up with great ideas rather than thinking quick and wasting time at the meeting. Better bring something..... This is not a threat lol...

I will start posting the key ideas that we should talk at the meeting. People should add in more key ideas.

Key Ideas>>> All of these are for every members, not just Theint. Think what we should do for each of these key points. All members must bring atleast an idea for each of the category!!!Write an essay and save it in your computer and print it if you are that dedicated... dont have to though.
#1 Rush Week Poster(Think something creative)
#2 Next Year Agenda(Basically anything related to our club)
#3 Video (remake; bring atleast an outline or ideas in your head)
#4 Communication System(A plan)
Add more >>>>if any left.

Theint if you have every officers' e-mail, you should send this to every officers. So they dont come to the meeting in a bewildered expression.

This is not the forum for meeting or the officer's issue.
and i've told them to sign up by fb/ms, annd txt. it's their problem if they wont response.

why is it not a good idea for it to be on feb.?
i chose feb coz we have hellla time to plan ahead. and also you said finals are in Jan. But the fest. is in late feb. so it should still be fine because that's when we bring everything together.


and as for the fund raise. > weren't we talking about doing the classroom donation box? ...well about that.. i dont quite like it coz it doesnt seem that progressive. I say, we sell foods. I would prefer it if we sell burmese foods but if that was not possible under some cases...we just gotta stick with some other foods.

Febuary could work...assuming that we can get febuary. We have to consider the fact that we dont have much option, and we may even have to take any date the ASB give us.

We should sell art work...will be better if it is realted to burma. Then sell them to people and say that it's to help people. Drawing, picture,oragami, etc. Yes, class room donation is a bad idea unless something like Nargis happens again. The Nargis issue has cooled down in US so we can really use that anymore.

I also like to add something. Since we pass, i dont think we should worry much about having some similarity amongs any other clubs. If we tries to differentitate too much, it will just end up isolating our own club.

EXCEPT for oragami xD... art wooorrrkss?? there are so many people who have better art skills then any of us..

So .. what we can do iss.. buy really cheap painted postcards [ or order them from burma ^3^] and sellllllllllllll themmm and we can also deliver them to whom ever they want to have them delivered [ in schooool]
